Are you wearing a glow suit?

Dear Dance Company:
I heart you all. Sers. Anyhow, I have learned so much these past two years. I have grown both as a dancer and as a person. I think one of the things it has helped me most with is having an open mind. When you are exposed to so many different types of dancing, people, cultures, etc. it really helps you to realize that things aren't weird- they're just different. :) We have learned so many different types of dancing this year (African, Flamenco, that-fake-beating-people-up-one...) and it has helped me have a wider range of skills and appreciate not just the dance that we are normally exposed to, but all types of dancing. Thank you for a great year! You are all so wonderful. And Krista- I don't think any of us will fully be able to thank you for all you do, but here goes: thanks.
-Maria

PDC RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!!

This year was so much fun! I had so much fun choreographing for state! It was by far  the best experience of my life!! It was amazing and we all did so well and I learned so much from it! I can't wait to choreograph again because it was so amazing. It was surreal getting to perform my dance at state, getting first and winning my award. It was unbelievable and I couldn't have done it with out the amazing dancers I am honored to be with. I love dance company. I don't know where my life would be with out it! Love you guys! -Akaysha Greer

Hey attractive people. This is Kaitlyn Brooke Kulkarni on Krista's account because mine is being such a dum! Anyways can I just say that this year has been sooo nice?! Honestly we just owned the entire year. First and second at shakepshere, STATE CHAMPS, choregraphy awards, being in the same room as those australlians in Philly. Not trying to brag or anything but we are totally superior...literally. :) I really love all of you guys so much and am so glad that we were all able to be on dance co together. Love My PDC FAMILY!

PDC  has benefited me in many different ways... first off I have made so many new friends, not just any friends, some of my best friends! But thats not all PDC has given me an understanding of the arts, that basically nothing is wrong when you  are choreograph9ing or improving. PDC has taught me to love all styles of dance, or have respect or interest in them. It has also taught me different ways to move my body and to go out of my comfort zone, and try too do movement I wouldn't naturally do. I have learned how to choreograph using the three elements of dance time, space, and energy. It has also taught me how to light, costume, ad cut music for dances. But most of all it has taught me hard work, that if you want something good, and perfect you have to work for it. I love my PDC FAMILY!!!

LPHS PDC :)

Dance Company this year has been the bomb dot com... I have had so much fun and learned so much! We have worked so hard to make sure that everything we do is the best. There are certain things that we never forget. The good or the bad times will always be there. From beginning to end we work together to become one. :) Through all the blood, sweat, and tears we are there for each other and we will never leave each other in the dust. The biggest thing that I learned this year on dance company is that you can not just rely on yourself. When you are on a team you really have to make sure that everyone is a part of it, and that we are all committed. If there is one person that isn't committed then you can not have a functioning team with no issues. We are a team and we have to show that in every way possible. This year has been unreal. I'm going to miss dancing with you all next year! I hope it's as fun next year as it was this year!!! I LOVE EVERYONE!!!!!!!!! -Brooke

Here is the much anticipated Jingle Bell Rock dance PDC did from Mean Girls! We did this right before Christmas break and we had a ton of fun being silly and learning this dance.

Dance Company was such a fun experience this year! We kicked of the year by performing in the homecoming half time with drill, cheer, and ballroom. We had some memorable experiences at the practices beforehand...

Next came Shakespeare, the duet got first place, and was asked to perform in the Gala, a huge honor! The bus ride home was crazy!

Doing Beth's doll dance was one of my favorite dances we did this year. We performed it in both concerts, Philly, the drill team concert, and DCFA. This was such a fun dance, and it just got better and better every time we performed it.

Going to Philadelphia was the highlight of the year. We went to the art museum and saw the Van-Gogh exhibit. These are also the stairs where Rocky trained in the movie!

We also saw the many historical sites as well, like the liberty bell andIndependence hall. It felt like we were walking around the set of National Treasure!

We also got to watch a lot of concerts, as well as perform in one of them. There were so many talented dancers. We also took a lot of classes, they were lots of fun, but we were exhausted by the end!

DCFA was our last competition. I had the opportunity to choreograph a dance for this, and it went really well!

Dance Company has become my second family, and I don't know what I am going to do without it next year! Good luck to next years PDC members and all of us graduating seniors, you will be missed!

Making friends on PDC-- I am so happy with the friends I have made on PDC this year. We have some of the nicest, most genuine, craziest, and most hilarious people on the company that you can imagine. We are all different on PDC and when we combine forces.... well... it's awesome (: On PDC, we have the type of people that your friendship will continue on forever and ever. Some of the girls on the company are the girls that I have danced with since we were in 5th and 6th grade, those have been the friends that I will always have and have always made such an impact in my life. I have had the chance to meet a hand full of new people! Some of the people that I have met this year are the greatest people ever, I love every single one of them. Performing Dance Company this year has definitely brought sweat, blood, and tears but it has all been so worth it. We would have never done it without our great instructor Krista. She is crazy, Canadian, and extremely talented and creative. Thank you Krista for everything you have taught us over the years, you're awesome. And a huge thanks to ALL of the memebers on PDC, I love you all and I hope we will stay friends forever. -- Mercedes.

PDC Dance Final: "Assigned Music Composition"

We all know what happens in dance company stays in dance company.... ;)
So my post is what goes on for some of us outside of PDC.
Akaysha, Nyah, Ashlyn, and myself go to Sur Le Pointe (our ballet studio). This was the swan variation at our dress rehearsal. We all love having our studio experience as well as dance company, and it has been an amazing year!!
Our performances show that we aren't perfect. Im dancing on a broken toe, akaysha on her sprained ankle, slippery stage... we slip occasionally, etc. But its all part of the fun!!
Back to dance company... its really been a year to remember. We've had so many good times, plenty of learning experiences, and friendships to last a lifetime. I couldn't have asked for a better team. Love you all!!! :)

Lone Peak Performing Dance Company: This years reflection
I have had so much fun on the dance company. I made so many good friends this year and have had learned so much! mostly that there is much much more to dance then just jazz and ballet. Don't get me wrong those are important but modern has helped me open and develop my true artist inside. I find it so much easier to choreograph and improve. I have learned so many new techniques and have had so many experiences to work with famous choreographers and take classes with professional companies.Things like state (WINNAS!!!!!) homecoming, Shakespeare,PHILADELPHIA!!, and so much more. I was so impressed to see so many talented dancers all over who all they did was modern and see the incredible technique that comes with it. We are so blessed to have such an incredible teacher and a ridiculously talented team. I will definitively miss all of our awesome seniors and will remember all the good times we had. I'm excited and can't wait till next year and all that it holds!!! LPHS PDC RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW FML!!!!!!!!
