To All You Wonderful Dancers:

Hello, dearest dancers!!! Our last concert was super good so we really need to make sure that this semester's is even better! Unfortunately, sometimes we tend to get lazy in Dance Company so we really need to remember to try our hardest in EVERY dance, you hear? The only way we are going to get better is by practicing it and doing our best all the time, no matter whether we are tired or not. Hence the quote:

hey guys!! As social sidekick i thought it was very important that I share an inpsirational quote with you guys.

”We either make ourselves miserable,

or we make ourselves strong.

The amount of work is the same.”

- Carlos Castaneda

Lets make this next term really count and use the time that we are at dance working hard!! We get to be at dance no matter what and so we might as well be happy and enjoy it! We will be so happy with our concert, state, and other things if we work really hard. I dont think anybody wants to think "Oh if we only worked harder or if we only didnt goof off a lot." Lets just make this semester the best!! I love you all!!!

NATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL DANCE FESTIVAL

YAY ME! Krista told me to write about my doll dance getting excepted to the National HS Dance Festival, so yeah here it is. We decided last second to film my dance and send it in, so I was a bit surprised that it got chosen, but I'm excited that it did! I think that we are all very excited to go to Philadelphia because we will get to bond and have fun, take a bunch of classes, and watch other schools perform! It will be a great experience getting to know people from all over the country and learning different types of styles from all kinds of teachers. Right now in class we are teaching my dance to everyone that will be going and will continue to clean it so it will be PERFECT for Nationals. I'm looking forward to wearing the vintage dresses and petticoats and being able to do some extremely crazy makeup. EVERYONE GET PUMPED. WOOOO!

lets do it!!!!

Oh mercy! New semester means new goals and new rules and POSITIVE ATTITUDES! Us officers are super duper excited for everything we get to do this semester!

Just a reminder!
-keep a positive attitude
-stay focused :)
-for class on B days be sure to be in the room when the tardy bell rings for roll call. Then go get dressed.
-remember. You have 5 minutes to change. If it takes you longer
then that... something is wrong...
-for Tuesday's and Thursdays be sure to be in the dance room at 230... dressed and ready to dance!

I love you all! Lets start this year just grand dandy!!!.

Choreograph

I get to choreograph this semester with Ashlyn Adams and I am soooo excited! I have been wanting to do a dance for a couple years now and I finally get to do it. I got inspired to do a puppet dance because in Dance 3 we were learning a combination and a song from Sherlock Holmes came on. The genre of music and instrumental elements helped me start the movement and Ashlyn helped and came up with movement and we blended our ideas together. It's about puppets and puppeteers. The puppeteers abuse their power to control the puppets and don't really give them a second thought. Finally the puppets get tired of being tossed around and decide they want to be the puppeteers. After a while they get tired with the puppeteers and go to find someone else but their strings get cut before they can go any farther. I really like this dance because it has a lot of character and dramatic moves and sounds that will add to the dance. We found inspiration frond Bellatrix Lestrange because of the arrogance that she has and the way is kind of tipsy but not in a drunk way. That kind of stiff legged walk that emphasizes the kind of swagger she has. I am so happy to be choreographing and think all my dancers will do amazing!

PDC Christmas Social

Peforming Dance Company gathered together for our Christmas social and we held it at Beth's house. We ate lots of food, laughed too much, wrote nice things about all of our PDC friends, had a gift exchange, played a prank on Ashlyn, and yep, watched Mean Girls.

Mack put Ashlyn's lipgloss on top of the basketball hoop...

Dancing or not, we're wearing tights! We love Ashlyn (:

We had a blast at our Christmas social and we are all excited for this next semester! We have some great dances being taught, new goals, and positive attitudes! Love you all!

Kalli's Father will have the DVDs soon.  Big Thanks to the Elmers!

We also had a nice winter social at the Covey's house, where we dressed in ugly Christmas attire, ate bread bowl soups, did a white elephant exchange, and wrote happy nice notes to each member of our dancing family.
